– Karnataka Health Minister K Sudhakar said there is no need to panic about reports of tomato flu in neighbouring Kerala, as it is endemic to that State.

On Wednesday, Karnataka Health Minister K Sudhakar said there is no need to be concerned about reports of tomato flu in Kerala.

"While the tomato flu shares certain symptoms with COVID-19, it is not the same virus."

These signs and symptoms are common in various forms of viral infections.

There's no need to be alarmed; authorities have been instructed to be vigilant.

The tomato flu is also native to Kerala," Sudhakar added.

The prominent symptom of tomato flu is big red blisters the size of tomatoes.

Other symptoms include a high temperature, bodily soreness, joint swelling, and exhaustion, which are similar to chikungunya, according to the Minister's office.
