Knight-Hennessy scholars received funding for graduate studies at Stanford University. The education of Knight-Hennessy Scholars is funded for up to 3 years for any bachelor’s degree at Stanford. If your degree program is over 3 years old – such as an MD or PhD program, or a Stanford dual or joint degree program – then your Stanford Home Department will fund the remainder of your education in line with its standard funding commitment for that program. (This means, for example, your program may fund you for 1 additional year for some PhDs and for 3 additional years for others).
During each of the three years of graduate study , Knight-Hennessy scholars receive:
• A fellowship applied directly to cover tuition and related fees
• A stipend for living and academic expenses (eg room and board, books, educational supplies, instructional materials, local transport and reasonable expenses)
• A travel grant from Stanford and to cover an economy-class ticket for the annual trip.
Knight-Hennessy Scholars may use supplementary funds to support educational enrichment (eg, conference travel). After enrollment at Stanford, you may want to enroll in an additional graduate program. In this case, you can apply to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program to receive additional funds for a maximum of 3 years.
Additional grants for special status: If you engage in alternative research projects during the summer, the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program may provide summer funding through a separate application. In addition, Knight-Hennessy scholars pursuing positive influence through social undertakings may be eligible to apply for seed funding.

Not covered

• The Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program typically does not cover the costs that your home department at Stanford pays for its students – such as for membership or laboratory equipment.
• The fellowship stipend can be considered as taxable income. The Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program does not reimburse students for taxes.

Eligibility:

The Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program is designed to be open to a wider set of qualified applicants. For example, there is no restriction on the basis of citizenship, age, field of study, career aspiration, etc. Applicants from all countries are eligible, and you can apply for any academic discipline at any Stanford graduate school. If you are applying to enroll in the full-time undergraduate program (s) at Stanford, you are eligible to apply to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program (for example, up to DMA, JD, MA, MBA, MD, MFA But not limited to), MPP, MS, or PhD) or if you plan to pursue 1 of Stanford’s many joint and dual undergraduate degree options (eg, MD + PhD, JD + MA, MBA + MS not limited to).
Beyond eligibility for your graduate program, the eligibility factor is the year you received your bachelor’s degree. If you receive your first / bachelor’s degree in 2014 or later, you are eligible to apply to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program. His vote:
• You must graduate from January 20 to September 2021 in autumn 2021 to enroll at Stanford. If you have completed 6 years before applying (in or before 2013, for Autumn 2021 intake) If you have graduated with your first / bachelor’s degree over 6 years before applying (in or before 2013, for autumn 2021 intake), you are not eligible for consideration as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar Huh. • If you are still studying for your first / bachelor’s degree in college, you are eligible to apply as long as you complete your first / bachelor’s degree before enrolling as a graduate student at Stanford will that do. Unconformable students are eligible to apply for the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program, but must meet eligibility for the graduate program, including any work requirements. If you have enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at Stanford in 2020 or earlier, you are ineligible for consideration as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar for your current degree program.
