Electronics are chock-full of gold, but getting it out is so difficult that most of it goes to waste.A New Zealand startup has found a way to extract gold from old circuit boards using inexpensive chemicals and microbes that absorb precious metals. The founders hope it will reinvent how the world deals with e-waste.

I will be started it's business but it is not idea for business
What's left after the metal is taken out..where does that end up? In a landfill I bet..
I hope they succeed, but they are up against low cost hazardous open burning, with cheap labour.
We need to keep our waste in the country of origin/use and deal with it, not export, put the cost on those who want a new gadget every year.
My laptop is 8years old, new screen, and new battery, latest OS, and works fine.
This is amazing
So what does this company do with their waste after all the materials are extracted? They certainly didn't mention it.
I don t care about atmosphere I carre about my thin wallet, so if I can get money I would
Try not to hoard up the e-waste in the atmosphere.

We have to control upgrading and updated version frequency. How it's important once best product suddenly become outdated next day. Is this our need or cleverness.
Understanding the concept of Binary is of great importance. People thinks investing in Binary is all about buying coin and then allow it to rise, come on! It takes much more analysis to become a successful binary investor. Investors who are optimistic in STOCKS, FOREX TRADING, BINARY OPTIONS,…. are earning massively from it. So i advice everyone to venture into Binary options it's never late.

WHEN IT COMES TO INVESTING, WE WANT OUR MONEY TO GROW WITH THE HIGHEST RATED OF RETURN, AND THE LOWEST RISK POSSIBLE. WHILE THERE ARE NO SHORTCUTS TO GETTING RICH, BUT THERE ARE SMART WAYS TO GO ABOUT IT
I don't think people realize how LITTLE gold is in a computer. If it was anything significant computers would cost a lot more. Like these computer recycling companies always go bro, then more pop up cause someone think they can do it, eventually either go broke or realize they can't do it and pull out at whatever point they're at (maybe they made a miniscule profit but probably not). This is way most gold is still coming from mines.
cool
We are dealing in led light product..do you have any thing to recycle our replacement products
Kinda hurts that I know dam well that my phone is in a E-waste dumb, and I took dam good care of it to be pristine.
Sad how they do this for a living and junkies over here do it to get gear bahahha bro
It’ll be so cool in the far future when we have some sort of atomizer machine that can separate all the atoms of elements.
So basically this company is taking the only source of income for many poverty stricken people in the name of greenness. Ok.
Get rid of the disposable everything make everything repairable pass laws that make companies have to have repairability like the auto industry had to do years ago
wish our country could start doing this
Not really mining if you're not mining it from the ground as a raw material.
It's pretty much recycling
I am from Bangladesh if you want I can provide all electronics
7:40 minimal employees = maximum profits
2:05 you know eventually you could just use sea bead sediments to get the same results like ocean bed soil should be rich in almost all minierals and just drying it out then processing it though a chemical bath to be atrtracted to Seed nodes you could in theory tune it to the monotomic freqency of any alloy i'd assume if someone could figure out the correct method .
1:24 That dust is literally lung-cancer in i box. We're talking shredded FR-4 (asbestos essentially), heavy metals and god knows how many cancerous chemicals.
whoever burns e-waste or throws it into the ocean is the biggest problem for our world
i really love this
seeing all those scrap computer parts get ruinned hurt my heart, im going to a local scrapyard to adopt a new ram now
Bawahahaha if it's in nz it's full of sht
I make a second hand phone last me up to 5 years for a reasonable price , people litter and create waste way too much we need to clean the planet up and spread the love !
I would love to see an update on this process, did they successfully build the larger plants and how are they preforming.
Do you even break even doing this lol?
holy shit, 1% of all yearly australian electronic waste is actually huge, if they had multiple plants in multiple cities around the world or in different countries, they could actually make a difference
Just go to a local religious building and ask the fake overlord to multiple every precious metal by 100.
Now there is a law that we can all get behind no more electronics in the landfill you gotta go somewhere so we make somebody a millionaire collecting this shit all we do is throw it away anyways why can't we make it illegal to dump electronics and batteries in the landfill.
Money equals status and bloated egos. Bloated egos equal problems for everyone
What about liquid ass. Where that came from?
